After speaking out about the medical health risks of homosexuality and voicing his religious and moral beliefs, Dr. Paul Church’s job at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) was threatened—but family values supporters like you spoke up with MFI to send a petition to BIDMC on his behalf.

Last week nearly 900 of you responded to our Call-to-Action and challenged Dr. Church’s termination. The petition was submitted to BIDMC President, Dr. Kevin Tabb, and Board Chairman, Daniel Jick. Thank you to all who signed the petition for using your voice to support Dr. Church!dr. church_ life site news

In Dr. Church’s own words, the primary mission of all medical health professionals is “the promotion of healthy behaviors and lifestyle choices, and to combat risks to public health, not endorse them. Truly caring for the well-being of individuals requires telling them the truth about their choices…[it is essential that] I am allowed to communicate my views on this subject and defend them today.”

Again in his own words Dr. Church was forced to defend medical facts and his beliefs in opposition to  “the medical center that has not remained neutral on what is primarily a political-social agenda of the LGBT community.” We applaud Dr. Church for his bold stand, and thank those who stood with him for religious freedom and free speech.

This battle for truth in the health profession mirrors what MFI does on a day-to-day basis in the legislative, legal, and political arenas. As bakers, florists, hoteliers and now doctors are being singled out and mistreated, we must more than ever stand for our first and preeminent rights of belief and expression. We are most grateful for your continued support of MFI’s efforts to stand for truth in the Commonwealth.
