Congratulations to our Catholic brothers and sisters on the election of a new Pope!

In the first sermon of his pontificate, Pope Francis said: “We can walk as much as we want, we can build many things, but if we do not profess Jesus Christ, things go wrong. We may become a charitable NGO, but not the Church, the Bride of the Lord.”  … [w]hen we do not profess Jesus Christ…Anyone who does not pray to the Lord prays to the devil…”

The Pope has also had strong words on the issues of marriage and life.

“Today the country [Argentina], confronting this situation, needs the special assistance of the Holy Spirit to put the light of truth amid the darkness of error; needs this advocate to defend us from the spell of many sophistries with which to seeks to justify this legal project, and which is used to confuse and mislead people of good will.”

Pope-Francis-I-small“Let’s not be naive, we’re not talking about a simple political battle; it is a destructive pretension against the plan of God. We are not talking about a mere bill, but rather a machination of the Father of Lies that seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God.”

— Pope Francis, formerly Cardinal Bergoglio of Argentina, on homosexual “marriage”

“The suffering of innocents and the peaceful continues to slap us, the contempt for the rights of the most fragile individuals and peoples are not so far away; the empire of money with his demonic effects like drug abuse, corruption, trafficking people, including children, along with material and moral poverty are rife.” — Cardinal Bergoglio

“The right to life is a fundamental human right.” — Cardinal Bergoglio
