We had a great response to our Options for School webinar last Sunday evening! 2100 clicked on our webinar link!

It was an information-packed event addressing concerns over both COVID guidelines for reopening schools and graphic sex education curricula. Several education leaders from private Christian schools, churches, and homeschool co-ops and organizations shared what they have to offer for parents who are considering different schooling options this fall.

I would like to tell you about another exciting opportunity to become equipped to protect children in our schools. The Heritage Foundation in partnership with multiple pro-family organizations, including Massachusetts Family Institute, will be hosting the 2020 Protecting Children in Education Summit on Wednesday, August 12th from 10am to noon. Expert panels will discuss opposing the sexualization of children through medically unsound “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) and sexual orientation and gender identity curriculum.

As you know, our state legislature, the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Planned Parenthood and others are aggressively pushing graphic CSE curricula in our public schools. In fact, the Healthy Youth Act was passed by the MA Senate this past January, bringing this dangerous bill one step closer to being signed into law. If this happens, MA schools teaching reproductive health will be forced to use only state approved objectionable CSE curricula that advocates “sexual rights” for children and makes teens feel like sexual activity is an expectation. Equally concerning is that CSE is designed to change the sexual and gender norms of society by promoting diverse sexualities and perpetuating the dangerous transgender trend affecting our youth. The time for us to act to protect our children is now.

To learn more about the explicit sex education curricula being taught in MA schools and to join a community of like-minded parents, visit the Massachusetts Informed Parents (MIP) Facebook group for up to date news, articles, and research. MIP is a state-wide resource to inform parents, communities, faith leaders, and taxpayers on critical issues that impact our children’s education and health, parental rights, and the role of parents in education.

MFI believes strongly that parents are the primary and most important educators in a child’s life. We are dedicated to support you in your efforts to direct the upbringing and education of your children. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions regarding options for school or concerns about CSE curricula. Email Mary Ellen Siegler or Michael King. I encourage you to pass this resource-rich update to your family and friends!
