Next Wednesday, there will be a public hearing at the State House on several bills that would expand legalized predatory gambling here in Massachusetts. The bills would expand legal gambling to include Class III gambling (i.e. slot machines), opening the door for full-fledged casinos. “Increasing the availability of gambling is economically regressive, will increase social instability and creates a state agency of 500 employees to regulate an industry that thrives on political influence,” said Tom Larkin, president of United to Stop Slots in Massachusetts.

Legislators need to hear directly from their constituents who are opposed to expanded gambling, because we will never have the funding of the Vegas gambling industry and their high-powered lobbyists. You can come to the Gardner Auditorium next Wednesday at 10am and testify in person, and then take the time visit your state representative and state senator in their offices. You can CLICK HERE to submit written testimony through our website. Or you can send a personalized letter to them.
