The parents of a 32-year-old pregnant woman, known only as Mary Moe, have officially withdrawn their request to subject their daughter to a force abortion and sterilization, LifeNews.com reports. Moe, who suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar mood disorder, was being treated in a Massachusetts hospital. Moe is a Catholic and has expressed vocal opposition to abortion, but her parents in concert with doctors went to court to get approval for the abortion. Though a judge approved the abortion, an appeals court with very strong language reversed it. The Boston Herald originally reported that the court petition had been withdrawn, with Norfolk Probate and Family Court Judge Gregory V. Roach allowing the Department of Mental Health to state publicly that that is the case.
