Over 300 people assembled on Boston Common at noon last Friday to stand up for their First Amendment rights.  More than 1,000 concerned citizens were reported to have attended at multiple sites throughout the Commonwealth, and tens of thousands across the nation. The threat of Health and Human Services bureaucrats trampling on the religious consciences of millions of faithful Americans stirred up these large and diverse crowds.   Men and women from a wide array of faith backgrounds heard from an inspiring slate of speakers.

Former Boston Mayor and ambassador to the Vatican, Ray Flynn told the crowd, “despite what you hear from the media and some politicians, this is not about access to contraception; it is about the principle of whether the federal government can force religious organizations to take actions that violate their own faith and their own conscience.”

Author and syndicated columnist Don Feder warned against “the deconstruction of the family, coercive population control, sexual anarchy, and an anti-life ethic.”
