Like many of you, I was eager to see if President Trump would make good on his pledge to nominate a conservative Supreme Court Justice to replace the late Antonin Scalia.  I was therefore very happy to hear the president announce last night that he is nominating Judge Neil Gorsuch.  Several weeks ago, I had a conversation with a well-connected law professor who told me that Gorsuch was THE pick we should be praying for.  Although there were questions surrounding some of the other candidates whose names were floated, EVERYONE I’ve heard from in the pro-family movement is delighted with this nomination.  Gorsuch’s judicial record demonstrates that he is a strong defender of religious liberty and values the sanctity of life.  Unfortunately, this means that, despite his obvious qualifications, LGBTQ activists and the abortion industry will do whatever they can to stop him.

But the left will have a hard time justifying their opposition, as Gorsuch has a “unanimously well qualified” rating from the American Bar Assocation andandrew on NECN with Sue was confirmed by a simple voice vote of the US Senate back in 2006 when he was appointed to the Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in Colorado.  A former solicitor general under President Obama even authored a piece in yesterday’s New York Times calling for his confirmation.

I’ll be doing my part to defend his nomination tonight at 7 on NECN, as I square off against an attorney from GLAD (GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders).  Please pray for Judge Gorsuch and his family, as they begin to weather this inevitable storm.

For our families,

Andrew Beckwith
