The Barna Research Group revealed a stunning statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the faith-based world: only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview. Because of this, today’s believers live very similarly to non-believers.

Jesus commanded us to make “disciples,” not just church members. We are to teach them all things He taught us (Matthew 28:18-20) and a key element of discipleship is a biblical worldview. To address this need, MFI is partnering with Focus on the Family to bring their groundbreaking faith curriculum, The Truth Project, to more churches and more people.

Our next training event is in Medway on December 3 at Medway Community Church. This is a ½-day training seminar to equip people to teach The Truth Project. We have hosted a number of seminars around the state, training hundreds of pastors and ministry leaders.

The Truth Project is a DVD-based small group curriculum comprised of 12 one-hour lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail how to view all areas of daily living from anthropology, philosophy and history to sociology, politics, science, business, arts and religion. It is an excellent discipleship tool for new believer classes, youth ministries, college and career groups, or any adult discipleship-training ministry.

Attendees are trained on the concept of worldview and its significance in life, how to facilitate a The Truth Project small group, and a sampling of The Truth Project content. They will also learn about their roles and expectations as a small group leader. The cost is $99 per person (or per married couple) and includes the full 12-lesson DVD collection.

It is critical for the success of our ongoing work to not only change minds, but also change hearts. The more Christians live their lives with the foundation of a biblical worldview, the more effective they will be as salt and light in the culture. Election results will change, public policy will change, and our Commonwealth will return to the biblical worldview values of our Pilgrim and Founding Fathers.
